Does MonteGrid work on Excel for Mac?
Yes. MonteGrid runs natively in Excel on macOS, with no virtual machine and no Windows PC. The Mac and Windows versions are the same product.
Which versions of Excel are supported?
Microsoft 365 desktop Excel on macOS and Windows. Excel on the web and Excel for iPad are not supported yet.
Aren’t there already Monte Carlo add-ins for Mac?
A few, and they are worth knowing about. XLRisk is free and open source, and ChanceCalc from Probability Management builds standalone Data Table workbooks from SIPmath libraries. Neither is trying to be what @RISK and Crystal Ball are. MonteGrid is: mark any cell as an assumption, run trials against your live model, and get sensitivity and tornado analysis out the other side.
I have used Crystal Ball. Will MonteGrid feel familiar?

Can a colleague open my workbook without MonteGrid?
Yes, and it will work. Every assumption keeps a static fallback value and every MonteGrid function is stored as a standard Excel LAMBDA, so a workbook opened without MonteGrid shows your base case and recalculates normally. No #NAME? errors, nothing to clean up. Your assumptions, forecasts and settings stay attached to the file, so the uncertainty comes back the moment it is opened with MonteGrid installed.
How many trials can I run?
Up to 1,000,000 per simulation. On a typical model that finishes in under a minute.
Is my data sent anywhere?
