Effective Date: October 12, 2026
MonteGrid is developed and provided by Asunder LLC ("Asunder," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains what information MonteGrid processes, what information we collect, and how we use it.
1. Workbook Privacy
MonteGrid does not transmit workbook contents.
MonteGrid performs spreadsheet calculations locally on your device using a Rust/WebAssembly (WASM) calculation engine.
MonteGrid does not collect or transmit:
- Excel workbook files or document contents
- Spreadsheet cell values, formulas, or models
- Financial models or calculation inputs
- Simulation results or calculated outputs
- Workbook names, file paths, or document details
Your workbook data remains on your device and is not uploaded to Asunder's servers by MonteGrid.
This statement describes MonteGrid's own processing. Microsoft Excel, OneDrive, and other services you independently use may process workbook data under their respective privacy policies.
2. Usage Telemetry
MonteGrid automatically collects limited usage telemetry to understand how our software products and features are used.
Each telemetry event contains only:
- The name of the software button or action used
- A timestamp
- A Boolean indicating whether the user has a paid license
Telemetry events do not contain workbook contents, license keys, email addresses, or persistent user or device identifiers.
We do not intentionally associate these events with individual customer accounts.
Usage telemetry helps us understand product adoption, evaluate feature usage, prioritize development, and improve our software.
We retain usage telemetry indefinitely, subject to applicable law and periodic review.
Telemetry is collected automatically and there is currently no in-product option to disable it.
Although the telemetry payload does not identify individual users, routine internet communications may expose technical metadata, such as IP addresses and request times, to our servers or hosting providers. Such metadata may be processed in operational or security logs.
3. License Verification
Paid MonteGrid licenses are associated with a license key and customer email address.
When MonteGrid verifies a license, it transmits the license key to our licensing server. The server checks its validity and returns a license-validity response.
Workbook contents are never included in license-verification requests.
We use licensing information to validate purchases, administer licenses, prevent unauthorized license use, and provide customer support.
4. Other Information We Collect
Depending on how you obtain and use MonteGrid, we may process:
- Customer email addresses associated with purchases and licenses
- License keys and corresponding license records
- Limited software usage telemetry described above
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting customer support
- Routine technical metadata processed by our servers or service providers
Purchases may be processed by third-party payment providers or marketplaces under their own privacy policies.
We may receive purchase-confirmation information needed to fulfill an order and issue a license. MonteGrid itself does not collect full payment-card information.
5. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and maintain MonteGrid
- Verify and administer software licenses
- Provide customer assistance
- Understand aggregate product and feature usage
- Improve software functionality
- Protect our services against misuse
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use workbook contents for analytics, advertising, AI training, or other purposes because MonteGrid does not collect or transmit them.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information or workbook data.
We may use third-party service providers for hosting, licensing, software distribution, payment processing, and related operations. These providers may process limited information necessary to provide their services.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect our legal rights or the security of our services, subject to applicable law.
7. Data Retention
Usage Telemetry: Limited feature-usage events are retained indefinitely, subject to applicable law and periodic review.
Licensing Records: Customer email addresses and license records are retained as necessary to administer licenses, maintain purchase records, provide support, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Support Communications and Technical Logs: These records are retained as necessary for operational, security, support, and legal purposes. Their retention periods may differ from those for usage telemetry.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed by our services.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
We encourage customers to protect their license keys and maintain appropriate security practices for their own systems.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, applicable privacy laws may provide rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information.
You may contact us to submit a privacy request. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Because telemetry events do not contain persistent user identifiers, we may be unable to identify which individual events correspond to a particular person.
10. International Data Processing
Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Asunder or its service providers operate, subject to applicable privacy laws and any required safeguards.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in MonteGrid's features, data practices, or legal requirements.
We will update the effective date when changes are made and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
