Every keyboard shortcut in Asunder Knit, plus the mouse and touch gestures in the chart editor. Shortcuts don’t fire while you are typing in a text box. On Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl.

1. Tools

Keys What it does
V Select
S Stamp Clipboard
B Stitch Pen
N Color Pen
E Erase
R Repeat Bracket
H Pan
Z Zoom
Space Hold to pan temporarily

Note: Insert/Delete Row, Insert/Delete Column, and the Repeat Pen have no shortcut yet.

2. Selection and clipboard

Keys What it does
Ctrl + A Select the whole chart
Ctrl + C Copy Selection (switches you to Stamp Clipboard)
Ctrl + X Cut Selection
Delete or Backspace Erase the selection
F Fill Stitch (fill the selection with the active stitch, keeping colors)
D Deselect (keeps the clipboard)
Esc Cancel the current stroke; otherwise deselect, then empty the clipboard

There is no paste key: Copy Selection switches you to the Stamp Clipboard tool, then click in the chart to stamp. Empty cells in the clipboard don’t overwrite anything.

3. Undo and redo

Keys What it does

4. Knit tracker

With the Tracker tab open and the tracker on. Stitch and group keys need Stitch Groups on.

↓ or Enter Next row
↑ Previous row
→ Next stitch
← Previous stitch
Shift + → Next group
Shift + ← Previous group

5. Command palette

Keys What it does
Ctrl + Shift + P Open the command palette (search and run any command)

6. Mouse, trackpad, and touch

  • Scroll to zoom, centered on the cursor.
  • Middle-click and drag, or Alt + drag, to pan.
  • Select tool: click deselects, drag selects. Drag inside the selection to move it, Alt + drag to copy it.
  • Right-click erases with the Stitch Pen and Repeat Pen.
  • Zoom tool: click zooms in, Shift + click zooms out, drag left or right to zoom.
  • Tablets: two fingers pan, pinch zooms.

7. Yarn Simulation view

  • Left-click and drag orbits.
  • Right- or middle-click and drag pans.
  • Scroll zooms.
